The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires public schools to actively identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities who may require special education services.

Our District IDEA Child Find Responsibilities:

• Identification: Our district is responsible for identifying, locating, and evaluating children with disabilities who may need special education and related services. This includes children from birth to age 21, regardless of the severity of their disability.
• Evaluation: If you suspect that your child may have a disability and need special education services, our district will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine eligibility.
• Eligibility Determination: A team of professionals will review evaluation results and determine whether your child qualifies for special education services.
• Individualized Education Program (IEP): If your child is found eligible for special education services, we will work with you to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) tailored to meet your child's unique needs.
• Confidentiality: All information related to your child's evaluation and eligibility for special education services is kept confidential and in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
