Enrollment Options Guidelines

  1. All students residing in the District are expected to attend school in boundaries established by the Board of Education.  Schools with low class sizes that meet the Utah State Office guidelines for open enrollment will follow State law and USOE rules in providing for   an open enrollment period.

  1. Boundaries are set for all District elementary schools. All secondary students in the District attend the Juab Junior High School and then matriculate to the Juab High School.

      Current elementary boundaries:

Red Cliffs Elementary School: The south side of 3rd North in

Nephi and continuing to the south through Levan to the south borders

of the District. All bus eligible west fields’ students and those students living in

Salt Creek Canyon will be expected to attend Red Cliffs Elementary

                  School.

Nebo View Elementary School:  The North side of 3rd North in

Nephi and continuing north to the Burraston Hill road.

Mona Elementary School: The Burraston Hill road and continuing

north to the Utah County line.

Self-contained special needs students will attend school as follows:

Grades K-3 will attend school at Red Cliffs Elementary School.

Grades 4-6 will attend school at Nebo View Elementary School.

  1. Parents of special needs students may request that regular education students in the same family attend the school where the self-contained sibling is assigned. The request will be granted unless the receiving school exceeds enrollment capacity at the grade(s) where the siblings would be placed.
  1. A student’s place of residence is defined as where the parents or guardians live.Proof of residency must be presented to the school and is established through documents such as public utilities, rental agreements, and other officially recognized forms indicating name and address.  Parents who can demonstrate by finite legal documents that they are purchasing a home, renting a home, or building a home in another elementary school boundary area will be allowed to attend school in the new area if the move will take place in the current school year.
  1. Students whose guardians live outside of the District may apply for admission to attend one of the District’s secondary schools provided the school                                    has not been closed by the Board because (1) the school has reached or exceeded its enrollment capacity, or (2) because the student’s citizenship and academic record would very likely preclude the student being successful in a Juab secondary school. Principals in the receiving school are instructed to investigate the student’s prior academic and citizenship record before admitting a student to school.
  1. Students whose legal guardians live out of the District will not be admitted to any District school that is closed by the Board of Education. Students whose parents/legal guardians live out of state must pay out of state tuition at the Board established rate if the student is admitted to a school that still remains open under the District’s enrollment policy. All out of state students requesting to attend school in the District must apply at the Juab School District Office.
