covid smart

Dear JuabSD Parents and Students,

The increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Juab County during the past few weeks continues to drive concern throughout our communities and within the State. We have very few COVID-19 transmission cases in the school setting, but we have had a number of students and staff members quarantined who have been affected by close contact with a person in the household who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Juab School District is utilizing and following the guidance set forth by the State of Utah Health Department and State Board of Education to continue our success, we acknowledge the progress and positive direction we are going. Congratulations to the Juab High School athletics fall programs for successful and safe seasons. We have entered school, opened our books, and stepped on the courts and fields for competition. As we look to the coming months, I am excited to say that we will be fortunate to introduce JJHS & JHS arts programs back into our evening lineups. Over the next few months, students will work to engage in music and theater performances as well as the start of our winter sports programs.

With the weather changing, I encourage all to bundle up, stay warm, and stay healthy. We need to continue implementing the mitigating strategies to ensure that we limit the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our schools. For more information regarding state health department directives for positive cases in schools, please see the UT Health Department COVID-19 School, Manual.

I thank you all for being COVID SMART and for your positive attitudes. Your assistance with these mitigating strategies will help ensure that we can continue to operate schools safely for our students, families, and staff.

Respectfully,

Dr. Kodey S. Hughes, Ed.D
